Manic Symptoms Of Bipolar Disorder

Manic symptoms are one side of two sided condition known as bipolar disorder. Ecstatic feelings coupled with other feelings and dysfunctions are a part of this mental illness. These feelings are not attributed to good events in the patient’s life, only a frenzied group of symptoms.

Unlike the severe depression side of bipolar disorder, the manic side causes emotional feelings similar to intoxication which produces unusual thoughts and actions. The disorder is a swinging of moods between the two states of bipolar, except when the two are in combination, causing what is termed a mixing of symptoms.

Inability to sleep, elevated moods, racing thoughts, deficient judgment, offensive behaviors, endangerment of self, very high energy, rapid speech, inability to concentrate, irritability and bizarre beliefs of greatness, power and abilities are the most common symptoms of a manic episode.

The maximum danger for patients in the manic side of bipolar disorder is that the good feelings trick patients into believing they do not need medications or do not need to follow the healthcare plans to control this incurable disease. Relatives and friends that do not understand the bipolar disorder may misjudge the behaviors, which can include overspending, criminal behaviors and an addictions to danger.

If patients use drugs or alcohol, misunderstanding of the manic symptoms of bipolar disorder could deceive observers. If family and friends do understand the manic symptoms of bipolar disorder, coping can be extremely stressful.
