Bipolar Untreated is Terminal

Bipolar is as danagerous to leave untreated as Diabeties.is to leave untreated.  Once diagnosed with Diabeties you immediately start medication to control it, not cure it.  The same is true with Bipolar once your diagnosed you should start trying to control it with medicatioin. There are no catch all drugs like insulin for Bipolar.  Everyones brain is different and we react to the side affects differently.  So we have to keep trying to find the right mix.  It took me ten years of  trying medication and finally five years ago I found a good Psychitrist and under close monitoring we have found the right mix and I'm symptom free, finally.

I was diagnosedabout twenty years ago. I've been stable for five years.  For years I was diagnosed as having clinical depression.  Then I started having manic attacks, then I had a magor one that landed me in the hospital.  Where I was finally correctly diagnosed.  For years I denied that I had Bipolar.  I road my hi's and low's and loved the hi's, hated the lows.  Nearly wreaked my marriage, lost all my friends,  made all kinds of foolish choices, and acquired tremendous debt .  Then I went normal, scared myself and got help.  Years on the side effect roller coaster,Will explain later, now for five years I've been able to tollerate the medication mix I'm on.Working closely with a psychitrist to get my illness under control.  I won't say I know everything but I've experienced all fascets of this illness.  I know Bipolar is terminal the only cure is suiside and that's unexcepitable.  That's why we need to be on our medication, to control it.
